A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of James Edward Griffin. WHEREAS, James Edward Griffin of Henderson, Kentucky, was born on December 20, 1927. Since he always enjoyed cars, he made up his mind to do something he liked and made his lifetime career as a car salesman, auto sales manager, and consultant. During his career, he worked for Augubrite Auto Sales, Don Mahurin Auto Sales, and Expressway Chevrolet and retired in 2008 at 80 years. Outside of his work, he loved the outdoors and was happy when he worked in his yard. Bowling was one of his favorite activities, especially playing on the Echo Lanes Bowling Team; and WHEREAS, James Edward Griffin married Mildred King and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage and were blessed with two lovely daughters. He was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Baptist Temple where he served as a deacon; and WHEREAS, James Edward Griffin was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred King Griffin, he is survived by his two daughters, Fran Griffin Miller (David) and Gayle Renee Griffin O'Nan (David Y.); his sister, Joy Mitchell, his brother, Jerry Griffin; his two adorable grandchildren on whom he doted; his nieces; his nephews, and a host of other family, friends and community; and WHEREAS, James Edward Griffin departed this life on March 3, 2013, at the age of 85, and his passing is mourned by all his family, friends and community, who cherish fond memories of the time they spent with him; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and community of James Edward Griffin.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of James Edward Griffin.
