Community Action Team Meeting Radcliffe Elementary School Media Center February 11, 2013 4:00 PM SUMMARY Attendance:

1. The group watched the short video imbedded in the article “What Project Based Learning Is – and What It Isn’t” which clarified the key differences between Project Oriented Learning and Project Based Learning. Both articles further clarified the key components and characteristics of Project Based Learning and provided examples of projects from High Tech Middle, a public charter school in San Diego.

2. Using the National, Maryland, New Jersey, and Princeton models, the action team defined an outline of the areas/subject headings which will be included in our project based service learning guide/framework.

b. For the next meeting, team members will draft their assigned sections using the documentation from the existing models. i. Introduction - Szura ii. Benefits - Divilio iii. Link to Curriculum - Divilio, Mitchell & McDonnell iv. Preparation – McCreesh v. Implementation – McCreesh vi. Reflection - Kearney c. In our next meeting action team members will review the progress on the first six sections of the guide/framework, edit, and continue drafting remaining sections.
