In order to maintain your status of mentor/practice teacher, the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) requires you to keep an up to date portfolio, as evidence that you are developing your knowledge, skills and competence required to meet the defined outcomes within the NMC Standards to support learning and assessment in practice (2008) developmental framework.
This document acts as a framework to evidence the NMC requirements, which are fundamental for your triennial review and contributes to the appraisal process for your professional role.

Domain 3. Assessment and accountability

Domain 5. Creating an environment for learning
