 Eligibility Requirements 1. Foreigners, both of whose parents are foreign nationals and overseas Koreans who have completed the primary and secondary level schooling or earned university degree *Applicants must have either graduated or be about to graduate - Master , Ms-Ph.D. Integrated program applicants - Students who have Bachelor degree or are graduate-to-be - Ph.D. program applicants : Master degree *Students who have Master degree or are graduate-to-be * Applicants from abroad must submit the S-TOPIK certificate (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 4 or higher, except for the following : (1) Students who have studied Korean Language as major in undergraduate or graduate school (2) Students who have graduated university in Korea (3) Students who are recommend by Konkuk University Professor (Recommendation letter should be attached to the applications) * Students applying for Korean Language & Literature must submit S-TOPIK level 5 certificate.

 Screening Procedure 1. Procedure in common A. Document reviews - Academic transcripts of undergraduate and graduate education - Study & Research Plan - Proof of working experience - Knowledge and aptitude of applied major B. Interviews - Students currently staying in Korea must attend interview. Students from overseas do not need to take interviews, whose evaluation will be based only on their submitted materials. - Interviews are supposed to be conducted in Korean. But an applicant who applied for a certain department may take English interview or additional test.

2. Documents to submit for Arts and Design Area A. Applicants for Design - Applicants to apply for Mater program should carry their portfolio pieces when interviews. - Applicants to apply for Ph.D. Program should carry their portfolio pieces and submit their M.S. degree thesis. B. Applicants for Fine Arts - Applicants to apply for Master program should carry the portfolio pieces(A-4 size) which are composed of more than 10 works of their own (title, materials, size and vintage are to be written on the portfolio) and submit research plan (not more than 3 pages of A-4 size) - Applicants to apply for Ph.D. Program should carry the portfolio pieces(A-4 size) which are composed of More than 15 works of their own (title, materials, size and vintage are to be written on the portfolio) and submit research plan (not more than 5 pages of A-4 size) and M.S. degree thesis C. Documents to submit

1. Master and Master-Ph.D. Integrated Program - On-line application form (2 copies) - Certificate of graduation and official transcripts (each 2 copies)

2. Doctoral Degree Program - On-line application form (2 copies) - Certificate of graduation and transcript of undergraduate school (each 2 copies) - Certificate of graduation and transcript of graduate school (each 2 copies)

3. Additional documents for all applicants (2 copies) - Applicant's passport (first 2 pages including the photo page) - Applicant identification card - Applicant’s parents identification card (including family if married) - Certificate of family relationship (birth certificate, family register, family card, etc) - Application essay (attached form ) - Study and research plan (attached form ) - Recommendation letter (1 original one + 1 copy one) * The letter must contain contact number & position of recommender - Financial statement i. In case the applicant or parents are responsible for expenses, *Bank statement (a Verification of Deposit) showing that the applicant or parents have maintained account with more than US $10,000 at least for the last 3 months *Please submit 1 original statement and 1 copy one. *If students living in Korea with D2 visa, Submit bank statement with amount of 3,000,000KW ⅱ. In case professor is responsible for expenses, a. Sponsorship letter by Professor (attached form) b. Certificate of professor’s employment (available at Academic Affairs Office)

- Students Academic Background Verification Document (Attached Form) * Students who have graduated university in Korea don’t have to submit * Students who have graduated overseas, please fill in English

* Chinese students - submit “ 中 国 高等 教 育 学历认证报 告 ” from http://www.chsi.com.cn or - submit “ 认证报 告 ” from www.cdgdc.edu * Please type the documents in your computer. Do not write it in. * All the details should be true. It not, student should be responsible for disadvantages from providing wrong information.

- Additional Documents * Copy of Korean Proficiency Test * Copy of TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS certificate * Any major related certificate * For visa issue, Chinese students applying from China must submit 2 photos (passport size)

- All documents above should be notarized into Korean or English if these are not written in those two languages. If Students are expect to graduate, please submit the related certificate. And after graduation, then must submit the graduation certificate.

Notice * Application information should be exact. - Program, Department, Major should be correctly filled * Student should be responsible for disadvantages from providing wrong information. - Cancellation of Admission can be followed as disadvantages - Cancellation of admission will be followed if degree is forged or educational background is not equivalent to Korean education systems * No refund for application fee. * Applicants must attend interview by 09:50am at the designated place with alien registration card - Applicants from abroad will be evaluated by document screening

* Announcement of accepted students and payment of tuition fee will be posted at the graduate school homepage (http://grad.konkuk.ac.kr) * When giving up after registration, students need to fill out the “Registration fee return application” and submit to the office of the graduate school before new semester starts. * Students from year 2008 should take the class called “The understanding of Korean Culture”
