University of Louisville Student Activities Board Meeting Minutes June 1, 2011

A regular scheduled meeting of the Student Activities Board was held on June 1, 2011 in the Student Activities Center.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by the Chair. The following members were present: Derek Carpenter, Chair Emily McGlawn Clarissa Mobley Chris Bretzlauf Tony Ausick Nick Whitmer Eli Wood Aisha Ndlovu late Taylor Gwynn Liz Hammond Franklin Neff Sasha Ndlovu late Lauren Nehus Cassidy Hammon Members not in attendance: Cameron Kalegi excused Advisors in attendance: Stuart Neff Meeting Minutes: motion to pass last meetings minutes by Taylor Gwynn, second by Eli Wood 10-0-0 Training: Event Planning and Proposal Demonstration Advisor Report: Stu: leaving for vacation 6/3

Derek Carpenter: orientation dances and fair sign ups, think about performers for fall concert

Committee Reports Diversity: have good ideas, need to talk, talking to ariel about fashion show clothes, Asian project: possibly Engaging Issues: Collins touhy may be too much but will talk to athletics, community service project with Bill Pardo, could bring the Food Guy, The Other Wes Moore community project with the university, no on the sex guy, looking at dui simulator and Mr. attraction Campus Life: Dates for live lunch and finals fiesta set, and1 street team tour: 3 day event in spring Outreach: CUTS aug 20th: country themed at the red barn, bull riding??????, looking at hsc cookouts, looking for ideas to replace grad dinner dance, eli and sasha will be emailing more, any housing news and events in the dorms Film: fly over fest starting jun 11th showing Meeks Cut Off, film studies minor program started, starting out of classroom opportunities for those students, “glee-athon”, horror fest for the entire month of october Spirit & Traditions: talked to bobby k for the form party, meeting with john Israel, recruiting members at orientation, talking to rsa for help with foam party
