Brown Psychology Training Consortium Postdoctoral Seminar Series 2016-2017

WHEN: Second Tuesday of every month, 5:30-7:00 pm*

WHERE: 1st floor conference room, Duncan Building, Butler Hospital

COORDINATORS: Melissa Jenkins, Ph.D., [email protected], 401- 497-5841 and Carla Correia, Psy.D. [email protected], 401-682-2189

ATTENDANCE: These seminars are MANDATORY for every first-year trainee with a clinical psychology degree and optional for others. You will be asked to sign in for each meeting. Please contact the series coordinator if you cannot make a meeting.

FORMAT: Presenters represent a wide variety of researchers, clinicians, and educators, and this is your chance to interact with them and ask any questions you have about the “nuts and bolts” of being a psychologist. Bring questions. Bring dilemmas. Bring ideas. With the exception of a few essential skills, these are not lectures. By and large, they are discussions and the goal is to help each participant to develop the highest level of professional skills and professional identity possible by interacting with a highly successful and diverse series of presenters. The hope is that you will find these interactions useful in developing your own professional skills and professional identity as a psychologist.

DINNER: Pizza will be served. Please bring your own drink. Date Topic Speakers September 12 Introduction to Seminar and Topics Carla Correia Melissa Jenkins Professional Image and Online Beth Jerskey Presence October 10 Licensure Irene Piryatinsky
