Speaking of Things Pertaining to the Kingdom Repentance and Remission

Act 1:3 To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

The “new covenant” did not come into effect until Jesus was crucified. Jesus’ death marked the transition from the old plan to the new one, canceling the old obligations and accompanying sins, and summoning the heirs to receive the eternal inheritance that was promised them. He brought together God and his people in this new way.

Heb 9:15 Message Bible Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can live all out for God.

The issue of sin has kept man occupied and separated from God.

Heb 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: Heb 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

Perfect qualified, complete Conscience co-perception-coming to an understanding of togetherness Co (suffix) meaning together, jointly Perception understanding Reformation amendment of what is defective

It is God’s plan that man sees himself linked to God working together with Him as one. Jesus made a way for that to happen by taking the offense out of the way.

Joh 17:22 And the glory which thou gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

The time of reformation has come! Preach “New Covenant” repentance and remission of sins.

19 Luk 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Repentance to think differently afterwards; compunction for guilt including reformation (change) Compunction (dictionary) A pricking of heart; poignant grief or remorse proceeding from a consciousness of guilt; the pain of sorrow or regret for having offended God, and incurred his wrath Remission freedom, liberty, pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, to lay aside Sins to miss the mark and not share in the prize, to err, to offend

Repentance is not a new thing. Repentance was preached in the Old Testament times. Man was confronted with his sin, it brought about a sense of despair. Gifts and sacrifices were offered, but it produced no change. Man was trapped in a hopeless situation as he looked to himself, “I’m guilty and I am sorry, but there is no relief from the condemnation that surrounds me. In other words, there was no remission of the guilt or consciousness of sin.

Psa 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Psa 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Psa 40:12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. Psa 40:13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

Jesus gave instruction concerning things that pertained to the kingdom. I want you to preach repentance and remission of sins in a new way. I want you to preach it in “my name.” I want you to look to me, rather than to yourself. When you are confronted with your iniquities in the light of my name (the position that I have gained for you through the cross) the remission of guilt will come. I came to save you and deliver you from the bondage of sin and condemnation.

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Redemption (dictionary) deliverance from bondage, distress, or from liability to any evil or forfeiture

20 Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

I have taken the focus off of sin. Put your focus instead in my name. Walk in your inheritance!

Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

My sins are more numerable than the sands on the sea and I can’t do anything about them, but “my eyes are on you.” Finally! Remission! Preach Repentance with remission! REFORMATION! The old that needed change said “Repent and YOU change your actions.”

The new says, “Repent, look to me and remission (relief) will come! He is not saying “Repent (become sin conscious) and then I can forgive your sins.” He is saying “Repent (become God conscious) and I will save you from yourself.”

He is not surprised, nor angry with our inabilities or with our shortcomings. He created us in weakness so that He could be our source of strength. We are transformed by renewing our minds to the fact that everything that we can boast about comes from God.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Look to me. I will hold you together! The difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant is in who you are looking to.

Joh 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

21 God is not looking at us waiting for perfection.

2Co 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth (holds together) us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 2Co 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2Co 5: 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Reconciliation restoration to divine favor: (Relief from guilt and condemnation that comes when we feel like God is angry with us because of our failures.)

Go and preach repentance and remission of sins. I have given you the “ministry of reconciliation. I have made an adjustment that will “set men free!

Men set free from guilt: Luke 15:21-22, Prodigal Son

Men held captive by guilt: Esau Hebrews 12:16-17 He found no place (position) of repentance Judas Matthew 27:3-5
