Introduction: What a joy it is to be able to trust the Lord for all things. Sometimes along life’s journey, this is not easy to do. The Psalmist is giving here to us a command. This is because we cannot trust ourselves for any reason. In order for us to walk and serve the Lord, we must trust totally upon Him. Let’s see some description as to how our trust should be in the Lord.

I. A Trust That Is Centered A.) Upon His Will Psalms 40:8 - I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Psalms 143:10 - Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. B.) Upon His Wisdom Proverbs 3:13 - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. James 3:17 - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. C.) Upon His Working Colossians 1:29 - Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. Hebrews 13:21 - Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

II. A Trust That Is Complete A.) It Is In A Single Person Psalms 18:2 - The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalms 56:3 - What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. B.) It Is A Satisfying Peace 2 Thessalonians 3:16 - Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. C.) It Is With A Sheltering Presence Psalms 61:3 - For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. III. A Trust That Is Clinging A.) A Denial Of Self Matthew 16:24 - Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. B.) A Denouncing Of Sin Hebrews 12:1-2, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. C.) A Dependence Of Steadfastness Colossians 2:5-7 - For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
