Chapter Member Awards Awards recognize activity with the SMPS Central Florida chapter in 2016-2017.
Rising Star Recognizes a new member (two years or less) who is actively involved in SMPS Central Florida and is showing great effort to make the most of their membership. Voting members of the Board of Directors and previous winners of this award are not eligible. Selection will be based on the following criteria: Length of membership (2 years or less) Involvement in SMPS Central Florida Active promotion of SMPS Central Florida SMPS accomplishments in the past year
Shining Star Recognizes a member (two years or more) who is actively involved in SMPS Central Florida and shows great dedication to the success of the chapter. Voting members of the Board of Directors and previous winners of this award are not eligible. Selection will be based on the following criteria: Length of membership (2 years or more) Involvement in SMPS Central Florida Active promotion of SMPS Central Florida SMPS accomplishments in the past year
Member of the Year Award acknowledges an SMPS Central Florida member who made extraordinary contributions to the success of the organization. Board members and previous winners of this award are not eligible. Selection will be based on the following criteria: Shown extraordinary commitment to the goals and growth of SMPS Central Florida by working to support said goals Promoted the reputation of SMPS Central Florida within the A/E/C industry Shown consistent involvement in chapter events and programs Revitalized or expanded any of the chapter functions
Board Member of the Year Award acknowledges an SMPS Central Florida board member who has gone above and beyond in service to the chapter, making extraordinary contributions to the success of the organization and the industry. Voting and non-voting members are eligible. Selection will be based on the following criteria: Shown extraordinary leadership and promoted the strategic vision of the Chapter Promoted the reputation of SMPS Central Florida inside and outside the A/E/C industry Shown consistent involvement in chapter events and programs Revitalized or expanded any of the chapter functions
Submission Requirements Complete the registration form and qualifying statement to submit a nomination. The qualifying statement should address each of the appropriate award criteria shown above and is limited to two 8½ x 11 pages with a minimum font size of 11 pt. Provide a high resolution (1-3MB file size) color headshot of the nominee in .jpg format. Jurors will evaluate the awards based on the above stated criteria. Jurors for Rising and Shining Star consist of current board members and Chapter champions nominated by the Chapter President. Member of the Year and Board Member of the Year award will be voted on by members. There is no entry fee for the member awards. Self-nominations are allowed.
