Canadian History Research and Textbook Project

Canadian History Research and Textbook Project Individually, students will choose a research question related to Canadian history (1750-1919). They will then generate at least TWO other related research questions. Individually, they will then create a double-page spread (11x17) for a history textbook using traditional (e.g. pen and ink and pencil crayon) or digital media (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Pages or Lucidpress (online and free design app)). Their textbook pages will show the answers to the questions they have researched. An example is on this handout (and on the webpage) but students could also choose a different format for the textbook page (e.g. graphic novel, diary with pictures or short story with pictures). Students will send their work in a jpg file to Mr. Arthur so he can print it out on 11x17 paper (the size of two ‘normal’ letter sized papers).

The project will take almost two weeks and students will have at least 6 class periods to complete this project.
