How to Apply for a HASEKURA FELLOWSHIP

The HASEKURA FELLOWSHIP is to support young researcher international exchanges based on the global

COE "Basic & Translational Research Center for Global Brain Science".

1. An application made by a Tohoku Neuroscience Global COE Center member is acceptable. 2. The cost for sending the laboratory staff and the student of a Center member overseas, and inviting a researcher (including a post-doctoral researcher) and student from overseas to a Center member's laboratory. 3. For the sending/invitation of a short period (within two weeks) and the medium period (from two weeks to three months), traveling expenses, hotel expenses, and daily allowance, if necessary, are provided. If it is three months or longer, only international airline round trip travel expenses are given. 4. Participating and making presentation at an academic meeting, doing joint research investigations, and entering into graduate school are covered by this fellowship. If the candidate participates in an academic meeting, he or she must be a presenting author that is the first or the equivalent. Specify the title and all the author names of the paper to be presented in the Schedule of the researcher to be sent/invited. 5. When applying, write the necessary information in the prescribed form, with the signature or seal of the Center member, and submit it to the person in charge in the Center two months before the planned date for sending/inviting. (Received at any time) 6. The pass or fail is notified to the applicant after the International Linkage Committee examines the application. The applicant should submit the schedule (Form 1-5), the estimate for an airline ticket (based on the cheapest economy class) to the person in charge. The people who are sent must join the overseas travel insurance that covers the whole travel period. For the staff and RA, since they are guaranteed by the workpeople's accident insurance, new enrollment is unnecessary. 7. The activity report (based on the form defined separately) must be submitted through the relevant Center member within two weeks (for short period) or one month (for medium period) after the end of the work.
