Enclosed you will find the 2015 Beverly Whitaker Memorial scholarship application from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Please give this packet the widest dissemination. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is a public service organization comprised of mostly minority (African-American) women. Last year Germany Alumnae Chapter awarded over $20,000 in scholarships to deserving DODDS students.

DST - Scholarship Application Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Germany Alumnae Chapter WHITAKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The following criteria for the Beverly Whitaker Memorial Scholarship will be applicable:

APPLICATION - Criteria and Instructions  Applicant must be a graduating Senior at a DoDDS High School located in Germany

 GPA of 2.5-3.0

 10-15 hrs of Community Service – You must submit a letter from the Organization stating what you did and the number of hours that were completed.  Must major in one of the following; Counseling, Education, Social Work, or STEM

 Must Maintain a 3.0 GPA to be considered for additional funds in the future  Application packet must be complete and typed.  Application must be POST MARKED by the deadline: February 18, 2015

 If awarded a scholarship, Applicant must be present at the award ceremony to accept his/her scholarship award.

THE APPLICATION PACKET MUST INCLUDE:

1. The two-page Beverly Whitaker Memorial Application

2. Personal Data Sheet (Extra-curricular & Community Activities/Awards & Honors)

3. An Official High School Transcript which includes first semester grades of the Senior year (must be signed by an official authority)

4. One Letters of Recommendation (Teacher or Administrator) and one letter from the Community Service Organization

5. ESSAY - One type written page, double-spaced.
