Re: Forced Removal of Tazul Islam from Heathrow, Flight number QR101/QR634/QR7044 on Saturday 12 April 2014 on flight at 10.50 hrs

To whom it may concern,

The UKBA, on behalf of the Home Office, are trying to remove a friend of mine, Tazul Islam on flight QR010/QR634/QR7044 at 10:50 hrs on 12 April 2014. This is just one of many attempts that have been made to forcibly remove him against his will despite the fact that he will be split from his wife and her children if returned to Bangladesh.

Understandably, Tazul is unwilling to return to Bangladesh. He has made a life in the UK and has a lot of friends here, he also believes that his life is in danger if returned to Bangladesh despite his claim for asylum being refused by the Home Office last year.

Tazul has faced considerable disadvantage whilst going through the asylum system. He was previously represented by a private lawyer who did not assist with his asylum claim. Tazul does not speak English and so it is necessary to find employers for his native language, Bengali. Furthermore, due to legal aid cuts and being moved from Dungavel IRC in Scotland to removal centres in England his access to adequate legal representation has been poorly timed and difficult. As a result his case has undergone many changes and he has often gone for extended periods without representation of any kind.

Please do not fly Tazul on your airline when it is clear the human rights violations this will cause. The practice of forced removal is not an activity your airline needs to be complicit to and I am urging you to reconsider your involvement starting with Tazul’s flight tomorrow..

I appreciate your urgent attention and consideration of this serious matter.

Yours sincerely
