We are currently recruiting an energetic and results driven, fulltime SAFETY COORDINATOR. Located in our Edmonton office and reporting or the Safety Manager, the incumbent will serve as a liaison between operations, management, and field employees. This position looks after both worker and company interests, and fields any safety related questions or concerns to ensure E Construction Ltd. is performing its due diligence as it applies to the field of safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Conduct site safety inspections and perform incident investigations and post-accident testing.

 Conduct training and orientation sessions for new and returning employees.

 Manage injured worker and WCB claim files, notify WCB of all workplace accidents within a timely manner, and provide follow-up information as requested by WCB.

 Ensure all subcontractors are compliant with company safety policy, hold valid WCB accounts, and are COR certified.

 Develop traffic accommodation plans, such as signage and detours to direct local traffic.

 Serve as a liaison between Operations, Management, and field employees by formulating and suggesting work safety standards, and enforcing OH&S legislation and company safety policies.

 General reporting and administrative duties.

 Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE

 Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license and experience as Class 1 driver (including tanker experience).  Experience with National Safety Carrier Code.  Minimum 3 - 5 years of safety related field experience within a road construction company an asset.  Strong time management and organizational skills.  Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.  Attention to detail and accuracy.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office an asset.  Preference will be given to those who have obtained their NCSO certification.  Must comply with Drug and Alcohol testing requirements.  Must be willing to travel frequently.
