Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you enjoyed the short half term break. This half term is a busy one and we have lots to do to welcome new children, families and new staff for September. Therefore we are continuing to work hard towards teaching and learning as well as set up new classrooms and resource the school for September.

Next week is an important week for Year 1 and 2 as they will be taking a Phonics Screening Check. The children will be required to read 40 words. This will be led by Miss Jordan and myself. The screening will commence the week beginning Monday 15th June and we will be carrying these out mainly in the morning. There is no set time that your child will carry out theirs so please ensure that your child is in school all week and on time. This weekend will be a good weekend to continue to practice complex sounds and words. Good luck children!

Thank you for your patience with the road works at the front of the building. Well done to the parents who have been parking and striding. This makes a huge difference. Unfortunately I have seen parents who feel that doing a 3 point turn in front of the school gate is acceptable. This is NOT SAFE and I urge you to refrain from doing so before an accident occurs.

Due to parent opinion we have decided to offer breakfast club now from 8am. Please see Ms Barber in the office if you are interested. Please remember that we are planning a Summer Fete on Saturday 11th July and we look forward to seeing you. We would also like to invite you to our Sports Day on Friday 3rd July. Times will follow.

A big thank you for your kind wishes, cards and gifts for my recent wedding. It was a wonderful day to be forever remembered.

I am settling in well and following school rules. I am trying Octopus Troy Eubank really hard in all my subjects

Jellyfish Ja’Vai Reid-Mbu I am showing great enthusiasm in my Maths lessons and learning to find 2 more and 2 less than a number. I am using my imagination really well when I create my Dragonfly Briyon Krasniqi own alien and using some interesting words to describe it.

Caterpilla I am trying really hard to concentrate during carpet Sami Haroon sessions. It is really helping me and I am on Red books now. r
