CALLED and CHOSEN - the call of all the baptised, the response of people to the ordained ministry, how both calls are for mission in the Church. The lecture will be given by Rev. Canon Dr. David J Oakley. KHS STL, MEd, PhD, Rector of St Mary’s Seminary, Sutton Coldfield, where many of our diocesan seminarians study for the priesthood, and where Canon John Udris of our diocese is Spiritual Director. We have two guest speakers from the Diocese to help us reflect & examine the ministry you exercise . WE CARE ABOUT WOMEN: is a SPUC campaign to oppose decriminalising abortion. SPUC is organising a Mass Constituency Lobby & is asking people to make an appointment with their MP to ask them to vote against any moves in Parliament to decriminalise abortion. The Lobby takes place 27th/28th October. Full details on the notice board. DEANERY MARRIAGE COURSE: is a requirement for all marrying in 2018 (whether within or outside of the parish) Saturday 24th February 10.30am - 4pm, at St Joseph’s. HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION: The Pope has approved a change in the calendar for the Dioceses of England and Wales: The Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord is to be observed on 6 January except when it falls on a Saturday or a Monday when the Solemnity is transferred to the Sunday. The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is to be observed on Thursday of the sixth week of Easter. YOUNG@HEART CAFÉ: Wednesdays 2-4pm at St John’s Sundon Park.
