Returning the Yacht and Check In

Returning the Yacht and Check In

We request the yacht to be returned to the dock by NOON. If for some reason you cannot make it due to weather or mechanical failure, we ask that you keep us informed by phone or radio. Once you are ready for your check in, our Charter Representative will meet you at the yacht and go through the check-in procedure with you.

What to do before check-in:

1. Please stop at the fuel dock to top off your fuel tanks and empty the holding tanks. At this time please give SHYC a call and let us know of your return and how much time you will need to get the yacht ready for official check-in. We will assign you a slip at that time.

2. Clean dishes, pots, & pans, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, heads, showers and all cabins. Vacuum the interior spaces of the yacht. Please place all linens and blankets in one area for our collection. We appreciate your cooperation.

3. Use the dock carts to unload your gear and take off trash putting it in assigned dumpsters. Please clean the BBQ grill if you used it during your cruise. Fill the water tanks and wash down the exterior of the yacht with cleaning supplies provided.

4. Clean the dinghy and put the oars or motor back in proper place. The dinghy must be tied up to the yacht or dock, out of the waterways.

Your assigned Charter Representative will then come aboard to meet with you, check the inventory, and inspect the yacht above the waterline: it’s machinery and overall condition of the equipment. When the check-in is complete, you will be asked to sign the Check-in report form. We realize you may be pressed for time so we ask that you please allow sufficient time in your schedule to complete this check-in and we will accommodate you. A check-in takes from 30-60 minutes.

Within 24 hours an independent diving contractor will inspect the hull, propeller and rudder for underwater damage. Please let the office or your Charter Representative know of any suspected damage to the running gear or underwater parts of the hull.

Thank you and we hope you enjoyed your cruise. Quick Check In Your vacation/travel plans may require you to leave the yacht immediately upon arrival at the marina. We will be happy to have our crew clean up and refuel and pump-out your boat.
