I have pleasure in inviting you to the India-Africa-ASEAN-GCC Pharma & Health Conference being organized on December 1 and 2, 2005 at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad. This conference is jointly sponsored by Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (PHARMEXCIL) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), with the support of Govt. of India, Ministries of Commerce & Industry, Chemicals & Fertilizers, External Affairs and Health & Family Welfare.

2. The main objective of the Conference is to showcase and highlight the major strengths and achievements of India in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare fields.
3. It will provide a unique opportunity to foreign delegates to assess the capabilities of the Indian pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors to provide the following:
- A steady and sustainable source of international quality drugs and pharmaceuticals at affordable prices.
- Setting up Joint Ventures for the manufacture of drugs
- Opportunity for commercial and technical cooperation facilities in pharma, biotech, healthcare & medical service sector.
-World class healthcare facilities available at competitive prices. 4. The event will also provide a platform for an interactive discussion among the policy makers, regulators and key players in the Pharma & Healthcare Industries in the African, GCC and ASEAN countries and will help in increasing the trade & investments from these sectors.
A product exhibition is also being organized at the venue of the Conference.
5. Also, from 2nd to 4th December, 2005, the 57th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, with the theme of Pharmacist Drug Discovery Research and Pharmaceutical Expo 2005 is being organized at Hyderabad.
Therefore, the events from 1st to 4th December, 2005, will provide a good overview of the opportunities for collaboration with India in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sector for mutual benefit.
