The Club would also like to explore the idea of running friendly matches with other local & regional clubs.

Stage 1 - Coach Development

By educating coaches the club will be able to provide consistent structured sessions and so advance the both Adult and Junior fencers skills.

By educating the coaches to a higher level the club coaches will be able to provide better coaching to the club fencers, Schools via Club Links and lay down the foundation for fencing in Derby and the surrounding County of Derbyshire. Stage 4 – Club Competition

Encourage competition entry across the entire membership and ultimately collaborate with other regional clubs to form a fencing league for both Adults and junior fencers. This will enhance fencing in Derby and the East Midlands region and ensuring the longevity of the sport in the area. Also the club aims to form an inter school league between all of the outreach venues.

To effectively manage this, the Club has appointed Matthew Ball as the clubs Competition Co- ordinator.

The main Purpose of the Club running a small competition is to give the club members the experience of running a competition. This, I feel is vital preparation for league and competition fencing. The other benefit of joining a regional league is that the Regional squad coaches talent spot at such events and so the fencers in derby will have the chance of fencing for the region or even higher
