The job description is specific to each position and sets out the duties associated with the position. The Officer Compliance, under general direction, is responsible for: working within the overarching AUSTRAC operating principles of the agency which includes being accountable; collaborative; innovative; demand and value driven; proactive, agile and having a strategic and cohesive focus. monitoring and assessing the compliance of reporting entities with their obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 by participating in assessments of reporting entities. assisting and educating reporting entities about their obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 preparation of assessment related documentation such as assessment plans, field notes, assessment reports and related correspondence undertaking a variety of industry analysis, risk assessment, financial analyses, reviews of IT systems, and audit projects within particular industry groups regulated by AUSTRAC liaising with internal and external stakeholders, such as AUSTRAC management, reporting entities, partner agencies and other government agencies contributing to the development and improvement of systems and procedures that enhance the efficiency and transparency of compliance activity.
Suitable candidates will preferably have experience in one or more of the following areas: compliance and regulation; forensic accounting; auditing; investigation; legal; risk modelling, intelligence; law enforcement and other identified relevant expertise. 2. Selection criteria
