Timeline Activity Read the ENTIRE document before you begin. Task

You are to develop a timeline to show the character progression of Othello. Your timeline needs to show how we were introduced to Othello and how his character is changing. Your timeline needs to show:

 How he has changed

 Why he has changed

 Who notices the change

 How others react to his change

 Quotes and techniques to support the moments in the timeline (where possible)

You need to complete the timeline for Acts I – IV using your table summaries, guided worksheets, character worksheets, table summaries and your own annotations of the play. Each Act needs at least a page, some may require two pages depending on the scenes and detail within the Act (e.g. Act III will take up more space). Your analysis will be used to develop a group timeline that will be displayed and added to when we complete Act V. Layout

You may complete this task in your workbook in a landscape page layout, on a separate paper or using ICT. There are several timeline websites that will assist you with structure it is simply a matter of finding the one that suits you. Should you choose to use ICT you must be aware that your work NEEDS TO BE PRINTED BY TOMORROW. If you have issues with printing then DO NOT USE THIS OPTION. Briging the finished product on a screen will not help you in the next activity.

The following is an example of the beginning of a timeline for Act I.

Resource 20a: Individual Timeline Year 11 Advanced AOS ‘Othello’ M.Kanaan 14/03 Creativity In addition to developing the timeline, you need to include images to show the main concepts of the play. This can include:

 Images of main characters at different moments

 Memes to support ideas

 Cartoons

 Highlighted key quotes

 Setting

 Depictions of symbols (e.g. handkerchief, imagery)

 Depictions of motifs (e.g. imagery, the storm) The possibilities of design are limited to your creativity! I have included a Year 8 example of a timeline to show you a very basic version of a decorated timeline. You can also research examples of decorated timelines. Due Date and Grade This activity is to be handed in tomorrow to be marked. You will be marked on:
