Expression of Interest – Arts Coordination Officer
Expression of interest is invited for relieving in the position of Arts Coordination Officer (Position Number 174150), Macquarie Park Operational Directorate at Nirimba Office from 24 April 2017 to 19 December 2017.
The position supports teachers and schools in the development and implementation of arts programs, performances and events.

Statement of Duties Supporting and monitoring the implementation of the Department’s Arts Continuum Strategy to enhance K-12 student outcomes. Coordinating the implementation of arts programs, performances and events. Facilitating the design and delivery of innovative Arts programs that meet emerging needs of students and teachers in all Art forms. Contributing to state wide arts planning and coordinating State arts projects in partnership with The Arts Unit. Training and supporting teachers in all art forms through the design and delivery of appropriate professional learning. Preparing and monitoring budgets, action plans, briefings, website materials, and reports relating to Arts programs and events. Supervising the work of support staff. Drafting Ministerial responses and correspondence.
Selection Criteria Teaching qualifications and recent school based experience. Ability to lead, monitor and evaluate combined schools’ creative arts programs including ensembles, workshops, camps, performances, exhibitions and festivals. Capacity to identify and implement current creative arts resources, recommended teaching and learning practices and strategies to build teacher networks. Ability to develop and implement creative arts professional learning programs and support materials in print and electronic form. Experience in preparing and managing budgets, preparing project management plans, briefings, materials for publication on the web, correspondence and reports. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to the values of public education. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
