Moral development of forgiveness, particularly the psychotherapeutic applications of forgiveness in contexts of deep personal hurt; psychology of revenge; conflict resolution; peer mentoring and student & teacher motivation.

September 1990 Directed a forgiveness intervention research study with UNI college students

September 1993 Co-conducted an attribution-retraining program to July 1994 with at-risk 9th grade students at Expo alternative High School, Waterloo, Iowa.

Related Scholarly Activity

Participated in a two-video series called INSIGHTS produced by Argee Productions of Madison, Wisconsin. The first video focused on forgiveness, and the second focused how to forgive. Both programs were featured in CBS in 1994.

Grants Received/Applied For

1- A $12,000 received from the FINE Foundation for the 1993-94 year to conduct an attribution-retraining with ninth-grade drop-out students.

2- Applied for a $74,000 grant for the 1994-95 year to conduct a forgiveness intervention program with parents who lost an adolescent child to suicide (Grant was unfunded).

3- Revising and resubmitting for a $74,000 grant for the 1995- 96 year to conduct a forgiveness intervention program with adult children of alcoholics (Grant was unfunded).

4- Secured a Goals 2000 grant for $100,000 for Staff development at Longfellow Elementary School in Waterloo, Iowa.

5- Applied for a $931,000 Federal Appropriations Earmark grant for the FY2007 (Proposal was unfunded). AWARDS
