CARSON HIGH SCHOOL RIGHT TO REPRESENT AGREEMENT

1. CONDUCT INAPPROPRIATE AS REPRESENTATIVE OF CARSON HIGH SCHOOL – As a member of Carson High, you have the added responsibility of proper behavior and personal conduct. Should you involve yourself, your team/activity/office, your school or your community, you will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include removal from the team/activity/office, in accordance with the Carson High School Disciplinary Code. (You may also lose any honors or activity recognition.) Students suspended with 90 school days of an election will be ineligible to run for offices, such as student body office, class office, king or queen title, etc. 2. ATTENDANCE – Students have to be in Attendance ALL day the day of an event & ALL day Friday if the event is Saturday or the following Monday. If traveling, students have to be in attendance the day they travel & if they are leaving before school starts, they have to be in attendance the day before that event or they will not be eligible to travel with the team. Students have to be in school ALL day in order to participate at practice. Only proof of a professional appointment will be accepted. 3. ACADEMIC PERFORMACE - All students involved in school sanctioned athletics MUST maintain a GPA of 2.0 from the previous nine (9) weeks (quarter or semester) & a passing citizenship grade in ALL courses during the sports season. Students failing to do this will be ineligible and must follow the ineligible policy set by the CHS Athletic Dept. 4. ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, DRUGS – Please refer to the NIAA ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND OTHER DRUG POSSESSION USE, ABUSE AND PENALITIES POLICY IN THE Athletic Packet. 5. ABSENCES FROM PRACTICE/EVENT – There will be no excused absences from practice or events, unless first approved by the head coach/advisor. This includes all extra-curricular activities, meetings, class offices, clubs, jobs, etc. 6. PERSONAL DRESS AND APPEARANCE – You represent your school, community, family, yourself, and especially the TEAM/ACTIVITY of which you are a member. You should dress neatly and be clean at all times. Dress on all trips will be at the discretion of the coach/advisor. 7. TRAINING QUARTERS/USE OF FACILITIES – The head coach will advise his/her team in relation to dressing room and training quarter’s procedures or use of facility. It is the student and advisor’s responsibility to keep the areas clean and leave them in good condition. 8. EQUIPMENT/USE OF FACILITIES – The head coach/advisor will advise students as to the proper care and use of equipment. Students are responsible for equipment that has been checked out to them. Students will be billed and charged for lost or damaged equipment. 9. TRAVEL – Participants will travel to and from all events with the team/activity in the school conveyance. There will be no exception to this regulation unless there is a written request and approval by the head coach/advisor and administrator 48 HOURS BEFORE LEAVING. Students MUST travel to the event with team/activity. In addition, if any student is involved in any illegal activity on an out-of-town trip, it is the legal obligation of the school representative to turn that student over to the authorities. Parent may be responsible for transportation home. 10. PHYSICAL EXAMINATION – Every student who participates in an NIAA sport, club sport or CHS activity (requiring medical examinations) must have a physical examination every two years (freshman and junior or first & third year of participation on an athletic team). It has to be on file in the Athletic Office before entering any practices or competitions. 11. INSURANCE – Every student who participates in athletics or an activity MUST be covered by either school insurance or a private insurance policy of their parent/guardian. There must be a signed waiver attesting to insurance coverage with policy numbers on file with the proper administrative offices. 12. PARTICIPATION IN ANY OTHER ORGANZIED RECREATION – No team member shall participate in any other organized recreation or athletic program during the season of participation on a high school team without the permission of the head coach/advisor. 13. GRIEVANCES/QUESTIONS – Any grievance, question, or problem in regard to a given activity should be discussed with the head coach/advisor of that activity before or after practice or by appointment. If you have any questions regarding the athletic program, please contact the Athletic Office at 283-1900. Should questions arise regarding any program of the school, please contact the Administration Office at 283-1930 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. 14. STUDENT BODY CARDS/FINES & FEES – All students participating in any activity MUST have a current Student Body Card STICKER, (NO EXCEPTIONS!) All fines and fees MUST (NO EXCEPTIONS!) be paid in order to participate in any extra-curricular activity.
