Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team Award

Criteria and Selection Process The Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Award is selected annually at the end of each sport season. All NAIA teams are eligible for the team award. Teams must be nominated by their institution (see accompanying form). The team selected for the award will receive the award at the National Championship. If the team that receives the Award is not in attendance at the National Championship, the award will be presented at the next NAIA Coaches Association business meeting.

Criteria: Award winners will be selected based upon their documented display of exemplary character and sportsmanship on the field, on campus, and in the community. Specifically, fulfillment of at least one of the core character values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership will be taken into consideration.

Nominations: Nomination materials must be received (faxed, mailed and/or emailed) by the respective sport manager on or before the deadline date. Nominating institutions are encouraged to take advantage of the many NAIA Champions of Character resources available Nomination receipt deadlines are listed on the nomination form. Please make sure your documents arrive on time, as no late documents will be accepted. Forms may be emailed, but must come directly from the Campus Character Liaison since his/her signature is required.

Selection process: The Coaches Association Officers will select the team winner of the Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Award prior to each National Championship.
