An Invitation to Our

An invitation to An Alternative Holy Week & Easter Celebration at the Grail Barn Centre, on the Shropshire/Wales border.

Wednesday (afternoon) March 31st to Easter Sunday (midday) April 4th 2010 Theme: Making all things New (Rev.21:5)

Why ‘alternative’? Because many of us feel that we are left untouched by the manner in which this great Christian mystery is celebrated in our parishes.

During this special time of the Christian year, we will together create ways to live the mystery of each day such that they speak to the sorrows and joys, fears and hopes that we experience daily. The focus will be forward-looking, experiencing the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ as an empowering to become new people, reaching towards our greater evolution and consciousness rather than backwards towards a ‘Fall’ and a ‘died for our sins’ concept. There is no pre-prepared program because it evolves out of the experience, creativity and inspiration of those present.

Our days together will be facilitated by Revd. Jonathan Robinson (Anglican) and Fr. Adrian Smith (Roman Catholic).

The Grail Barn Centre is situated on an open hillside position with wonderful views, in ‘borderland’ country, very near Offa’s Dyke and about 24 miles south west of Shrewsbury. There is a railway station at Welshpool, where we can meet you if necessary. Travel directions will be sent if requested.

We ask you to arrive by 6.00pm on Wednesday. Please bring with you: Any music, poems, symbols that are meaningful for you. And a good pair of walking shoes as the countryside may be muddy.

We are arranging accommodation on a B & B basis with nearby people. Some meals will be at the Grail Barn Centre. Other meals we will ‘eat out together’. The suggested inclusive donation is: £190, plus cost of meals out together on Saturday evening and Sunday lunch. A £25 deposit will be appreciated, with your booking form. Please tear off below and send to Jonathan Robinson, Grail Barn, Great Argoed, Churchstoke, Montgomery, Powys SY15 6TH. Jonathan will be glad to answer any questions. Tel: 01588 620779. Please make known any special needs, ed. Vegetarian. ------Name: …………………………………………….
