Knowledge of: Thorough knowledge of personnel management (e.g., recruitment, employee supervision, K1. collective bargaining agreements, staff development, progressive discipline, etc.) in order to manage staff resources. Comprehensive knowledge of current computer industry technology and practices to provide K2. guidance, consultation and advice, and make Information Technology (IT) related decisions. K3. Comprehensive knowledge of concepts related to managing change in the IT environment. Comprehensive knowledge of IT communication systems (e.g., network infrastructure, etc.) to K4. consult and make decisions on complex IT issues. Knowledge of the department’s Equal Employment Opportunity program and the processes to K5. ensure compliance and maintain a work environment free from harassment and discrimination. General knowledge of principles of the governmental functions and organizations at the State K6. level, including the legislative process in order to successfully obtain project authority and funding. Comprehensive knowledge of principles and processes used in providing customer services K7. (e.g., ITIL and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques) to efficiently and effectively manage IT resources and services. General knowledge of IT equipment and tools (e.g., hardware, software, documentation, etc.) K8. to consult and make decisions on complex IT issues. Comprehensive knowledge of the department’s strategic business plan (e.g., mission, vision, K9. values, goals and objectives) and division’s strategic information systems plan to set IT direction and plan accordingly. K10. Advanced knowledge of analytical techniques to make decisions on complex IT issues.

Advanced knowledge of administrative processes (e.g., personnel, health and safety, facilities K11. management, FMLA, etc.) in order to maintain the operation. Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and trends of public administration K12. including organizational management, strategic and tactical planning, and budgeting in order to maintain the operation and plan for change. Comprehensive knowledge of state laws and IT regulatory policies (e.g., State Administrative K13. Manual (SAM), State Information Management Manual (SIMM), DGS IT Standards, etc.) to ensure compliance with State regulations. Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body K14. of Knowledge (PMBOK) principles and methods for leading projects to a successful completion. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of effective verbal, written, and group K15. communication to accurately and effectively communicate job related information. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of information security as they relate to the K16. protection of IT assets. Comprehensive knowledge of the operational recovery planning process as it relates to the K17. recovery of all IT assets. Comprehensive knowledge of the State IT Strategic Plan to set IT direction and plan K18. accordingly.

Samples:
Willingness to work overtime and on-call hours as required. Willingness to work rotating shifts (that is, Saturday and or Sunday shifts) in emergency situations on an as-needed basis. Willingness to work holiday work shifts in emergency situations. Willingness to climb ladders to heights of approximately 30 feet. Willingness to work at heights between approximately 30 and 100 feet.
