Translating/Interpreting: I have been living and working in Barcelona for the last fourteen years. During this time I have been translating and interpreting from Spanish and Catalan into English in the following fields: marketing, market research, advertising, publishing, television, radio and the press, sociology, tourism-promotional material and guides, quality processes-ISO 9001/2, the environment, ISO14001/EMAS systems, ski resorts, hotel and catering, sports and sports equipment, art galleries and museums, classical and modern music, art, education and development in Africa and NGOs, instruction manuals and web sites, logistics, distribution and warehousing.

Qualifications: 1988: Postgraduate Certificate of Education Birmingham Polytechnic. Specialist subject linguistics. 1982-1985: BA Honours II(i). University of Nottingham. Main subject – History. Subsidiary subjects – Psychology and Computer Programming. Member of TRIAC
Other information: Married with child. Apart from English, Spanish and Catalan I also read in French and German and have notions of Arabic. Other interests are travel (in Africa and Asia), music (I have performed and recorded in studios), art, ecology, walking/climbing (1985 expedition to Svalbard in the Arctic, visits to the Himalayas, the Atlas and Kilimanjaro), sport, agriculture, psychology, animal behaviour, international politics and oriental philosophy.
