Planning Your Memorial Service

Planning Your Memorial Service

Death is never an easy topic to discuss. However, it is important that you plan ahead. For instance, many of you have living wills for when something bad happens in your life or the lives of your loved ones. That is why we encourage you to have the same foresight when it comes to planning YOUR memorial service.

When a loved one has passed on to join The Church Triumphant, more often than not, the surviving family members are not sure what scripture readings or hymns were the favorites of the deceased.

So we have come up with some questions that will help in planning your service:

 What are your favorite scripture readings?

 If you want the 23rd Psalm included in the service, which translation do you prefer (such as New Revised Standard or King James)?

 Do you have a favorite hymn? If you have more than one, what are they?

 Would you like communion to be served?

 Do you want the service to be held at the church, the funeral home, or at graveside?

 Do you have a minister you would like to preach or assist in the service?

 Will you be buried or cremated?

There may be more questions that you come up with on your own, and that is perfectly fine.

Once you have answered these questions, please submit them to the Church Office or Pastor Jonathan. You can email them to [email protected], or [email protected]. You also can turn them in personally to the Office or send it via mail to: 115 Unity Street, Thomasville, NC, 27360.

Having this resource will alleviate stress in the lives of your loved ones, and it will help make sure that Grace will honor your wishes and make your memorial service a true celebration.
