JA #13 – War! What is good for? – 3/01/13 In chapter 6, we see Paul and his comrades back at the front and in the thick of war. It is a pretty gruesome chapter, with the shelling, hand to hand combat, lack of medical assistance and food supplies. Today, we have much more “antiseptic” ways of killing our enemy, with drones, laser-guided missile systems, satellite communications, etc. In fact, much of our warfare today is done, or at least guided by experts from the safety of cubicles on military bases within the United States.
