Newspaper Advertisement Template

PREMISES LICENCE (LICENSING ACT 2003)

Within seven days of applying for a licence a notice advertising the application must be published in a local newspaper which circulates in the locality in which the premises are situated and which is on sale at local newsagents.

Within fourteen days of the application being made, one copy of the complete newspaper must be sent to the Licensing Authority, Holbeach Office, 9 Holbeach Road, London, SE6 4TW (Tel: 020-8314-6400)

The advertisement must be in the following form:-

LONDON BOROUGH OF LEWISHAM Notice of Application for new/variation of Premises licence

NOTICE IS GIVEN THAT Insert full names of applicant ......

has applied to the London Borough of Lewisham for Insert name and address of premises in CAPITAL LETTERS a new premises licence in respect of:...... Insert details of new/variation ...... of Premises Licence IT IS ...... IMPORTANT ACTIVITY, DAYS & HOURS ARE INCLUDED IN THE ...... ADVERT Anyone wishing to make representation regarding the application must give notice in writing to Licensing Services, Second Floor, Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, London, SE6 4RU (Tel: 020- 8314 6400) or Email [email protected] WITHIN THREE WEEKS specifying the ground of opposition. The application & register can also be viewed at the above address during office hours.

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence is £5000.

Should representation be received a public hearing will be held.
