TriCounty Baseball Board Meeting Monday, February 19, 2007 – 6:00 PM MINUTES
Members Present: Rich Blanchard (State Rep), Laura Roberts (Secretary/Treasurer), Lee Pointer (Camas), Damon Balch (Clark County), Greg Noles (Corbett), Darren Cram (David Douglas), Jim Mott (Gresham), Rick Livengood (Lynch Rep), Nathan Schmitt (Mt. Meeting was called to order at 6:10 pm
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
By-Laws: By-laws were to finalized at the this meeting. One item that was brought up was some discussion to increase the residency rule of 51% to 75%. There was a motion to approve the rule, then after much discussion there was another motion to decline the change at this time. Any further discussion regarding the residency percentage will have to be after the season is over. Another item that was discussed was to bring the PeeWee and Farms under the Trico umbrella. Again, after much discussion, no motion was made. No by-law revisions were made for this year.
State Report (Rich Blanchard): Dave Terry is the new State President, Robin Smith is the new State Vice President Association applications are due at the next meeting. Starting next season, Junior Baseball of Oregon, Inc. will officially have a name change to Junior Baseball Organization. Wednesday, April 4th is the date for the Tournament meeting at Oregon City High School at 7pm. Entrance fee is $1.00 per person, which gets you the 2007 season rule book.
TriCounty Junior Baseball Board Meeting Minutes – February 19, 2007 Page 1 of 3 Important Dates for the 2007 Season: March 11th – Tricounty Board meeting (note all association applications and fees are due at this time, also proof of insurance. Certificates of insurance are needed for both Junior Baseball of Oregon, Inc. and Tricounty Junior Baseball, with both being named as additional insured.) Association applications are available from the State website. April 1st – Tricounty Board meeting (all team rosters, team fees and team state applications must be turned in at this time, also background check verifications) April 15th – Pre-Season Mandatory Coaches Meeting (location and time to be announced) April 23rd – Start of regular league play for the Senior level April 30th – Start of regular league play for all other levels June 29th – Final day of regular league play June 30th – All scorecards must be submitted (any scorecards received after this day will not be accepted) July 5th – District Tournament Mandatory Coaches meeting July 5th through July 8th – District Tournaments for Jr. Nat, Mid. Fed, Mid. Am and Mid Nat July12th through July 15th – District Tournaments for Sr. Fed, Sr. Am, Sr. Nat, Jr. Fed and Jr. Am.
Old Business: John Teuscher is still looking at putting together some type of umpiring clinic that would be helpful for all leagues to use for recruiting umpires. More information to follow.. Please visit the website and provide contact information and links to the webmaster to finish getting the website finished. As it stands now, the new website is still “under construction”. Please send any updated information to Laura Roberts to ensure that the webmaster gets it done.
New Business: No new business
Rep Reports: Camas: Searching for new umpires, hoping to have umpire clinic. Signups/tryouts are complete. Expecting approximately 12 teams Clark County: Nothing new, expecting approximately 25 teams Corbett: Raised registration fees, signups complete, expecting approximately 3 teams David Douglas: Waiting for approval for building use permits for mandatory coaches meetings. Expecting approximately 10 teams Gresham: Raised registration fees, signups are ongoing, tryouts in a couple weeks. Expecting approximately 6 teams Hood River: Not Present Lynch: Signups ongoing, tryouts in a couple weeks. Expecting approximately 3 teams Mt. Hood: Signups ongoing, tryouts in a couple weeks. No guess yet on number of teams North Portland: Signups ongoing. Expecting approximately 5 teams Rockwood: Signups and tryouts this weekend. No guess yet on number of teams Sandy: Not Present SEI: Not Present Welches: Signups ongoing. Expecting approximately 3 teams.
