Section 443750(A) of the 1976 Code, as added by 25 Act 55 of 2007, is amended to read: 26 27 “(A)(1) Every hospital in this State must shall make available 28 to the parents of each newborn baby delivered in the hospital a 29 video presentation on the dangers associated with shaking infants 30 and young children. Every hospital also must make available 31 information on the importance of parents and caregivers learning 32 infant CPR. The hospital must shall request that the maternity 33 patient, the father, or the primary caregiver view the video. Those 34 persons whom the hospital requested to view the video shall sign a 35 document prescribed by the Department of Health and 36 Environmental Control stating that they have been offered an 37 opportunity to view the video. 38 (2) Every hospital in this State shall make available to the 39 parents and caregivers of each newborn baby delivered in the 40 hospital a video presentation on the importance of parents and 41 caregivers learning how to perform infant CPR. The hospital also 42 shall provide parents and caregivers information regarding
[5232] 2 1 locations at which infant CPR training is taught in the community. 2 Those persons whom the hospital requested to view the video shall 3 sign a document prescribed by the Department of Health and 4 Environmental Control stating that they have been offered the 5 opportunity to view the video and that they have received the 6 information regarding locations at which infant CPR training is 7 taught in the community.” 8 9 SECTION 2. This act takes effect thirty days after approval by 10 the Governor. 11 XX 12
