Vice President of Finance 2012 – 2013
Duties for the VP Finance: The VP Finance shall serve as a member of the Executive Board and the Representative Council. By applying for this position, you are confirming that you will be able to make Rep Council meetings every Monday from 8-10pm, as well as meet with the Exec Board on Mondays for at least one hour. The VP Finance is the Financial Advisor to the Student Government Association Executive Board and all other Barnard organizations. The VP Finance shall oversee the purchasing and spending of the Executive board and all Barnard clubs and present a full monthly report at Representative Council meetings. The VP Finance shall co-chair the Presidents and Treasurers Meeting every semester. The VP Finance shall serve as the co-chair of the Student Organization Committee along with the VPSA. The VP Finance shall serve as the SGA representative to the Inter-Council Join Co-Sponsorship Committee, along with one other member of SGA. Each Executive Board officer shall have a minimum of five office hours per week in which they are physically present in the SGA Office.
Appointments Process: Your application for this position will be considered by the Student Government Association's Appointments Committee. This committee acts as an advisory board to the SGA Representative Council to make recommendations for vacant SGA positions. This is a secret committee; the identity of all members is kept anonymous in order to allow for critical and honest review of the applications. Your application will be considered anonymously. Please note: For the VP Finance position, students will be contacted if their applications are moved forward to the interview process, which will be held with the current SGA Executive Board between September 14th-17th.
Once the committee has reviewed all applications, they will be brought to the SGA Representative Council. The SGA Representative Council will vote on the recommendations of the Appointments Committee at the SGA Representative Council meeting at 8pm on Monday, September 17.
