Nursing Department Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Presents an In-service on: Basic Ostomy Care

Purpose of Program: Provide the bedside nurse with education on basic ostomy skills Learning Objectives: 1. Verbalize an understanding of the steps required to change a fecal or urinary ostomy appliance. 2. Recognize basic skin irritation to peristomal skin and necessary treatment for healing. 3. Demonstrate how to troubleshoot basic ostomy problems.
