Earthquake Research
You are going to write at least one page about the earthquake in Japan. The focus isn’t just the earthquake though. What I want you to piece together are the consequences and residual effects of an earthquake. All too often an earthquake translates to casualties and damage to buildings or infrastructure. That is not the whole truth. It takes years for some communities to overcome some of the consequences of a massive earthquake. So, in light of that I want you to explore the bigger picture and see what is happening beyond the fact that a 8.9 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan. The following are guiding questions to assist in your report. Keep in mind, each heading will represent at least a paragraph and the sub- headings are more about what the content will address. Your report can even be broken up into the sections that are in bold.
