NAMIBIA: A Conservation, Culture, & Wildlife Safari A Unique Study/Travel safari experience arranged through Grass Track Safaris and Ultimate Safaris

Informational Meeting Thursday, October 22, 2015 @ DOC House 4:30 PM

Namibia is a vast country, even by African standards, covering an area approximately twice the size of California, but with a population of a mere 2 million – the second lowest density in the world giving an amazingly ‘soulful’ feeling of peace and solitude.

Namibia is also a diverse country, rich in culture, wildlife, and dramatic desert scenery. Over the past few decades Namibia has risen to the forefront of African wildlife conservation. Their conservancy program, where local people are allowed to benefit from the wildlife, has become a rare success story.

On this OSHER safari you will be taken on a journey of discovery through some of the world’s most beautiful wild places, encountering wildlife spectacles and engaging with age-old authentic cultures while receiving detailed interpretation by our highly trained naturalist guides. Being native to Namibia, our guides are welcomed as friends or family everywhere they go, thus ensuring an authentic and life enriching journey and giving you an experience of this magnificent and memorable country in a very personal way.

We’ll travel the country in specialized safari vehicles and stay in comfortable lodges. Along the way you’ll learn about important wildlife conservation work, track desert rhinos with game rangers, visit a Himba settlement, kayak with dolphins, and experience the vast dune sea of the Namib.

Dates: May 11 - 22, 2016 Number of participants: Maximum of 6, minimum of 3 Registration deadline: December 9, 2015 Cost: $6250/person (estimated total cost; see below for detailed cost estimates)
