TIPS FOR NOMINATION

All nominations must be submitted on an official application form. 1 application nominated per person. The application form and your reasons for nomination MUST be fully completed. Remember to give as much background information as possible and as much detail as you can about why the individual deserves the award. A person can NOT nominate themselves. WHO CAN NOMINATE?

However, you will need to have your nomination supported by a Teacher, Social Worker, Youth Worker or Play Worker who knows the individual(s) being nominated. Youth workers and adults working with young people can also nominate young people for awards, but not for the Adult Leader awards.

WHO CAN BE NOMINATED?

All the nominees must either live, work, attend education in the borough or use the borough’s youth service. For the category of adult leader, the nominee must be associated with an organisation within the Royal Borough as either a volunteer or a member of staff.

JUDGING CRITERIA

The criteria is listed under each category. In general, the judging panel will be looking for examples of progression, effort and achievement. Nominations will be judged against how far the individual(s) have come in terms of taking steps to further themselves or really making the most of an opportunity. The judges will be interested to see how much commitment has been shown to whatever it is they’ve been doing at any level. They will be looking to see how they have supported or helped others, or overcome difficulties, or how they have shared their experiences in order to benefit another person or group.

We receive hundreds of nominations each year; therefore the judges will be looking for examples of outstanding achievement and endeavour.
