Info: 210-341-1057 President’s Message by Carole Buss I saw on one of the local TV news casts over the weekend the crowd of "old car" enthusiasts at the Pig Stand Friday night. Believe me I'm glad that we are not into that mayhem each Friday. It sounded and looked like a mob scene! We will be trying our own T-birder night out at EZ's on Bandera Road just inside of Loop 410 on Friday eve July 23rd at 6:30. Let's have some fun!
If anyone did not get the message, we lost a couple of dear friends and former club members when Barbara and Jerry Lineberry passed away last weekend. Jerry apparently had a heart attack and died just an hour or two before Barbara. She did not know of Jerry's passing. There was a good representation of T-bird club members at the visitation and graveside services.
We wish Glenn Haskins a speedy recovery following his gall bladder surgery.
See you in August.

C.E. suggested that we consider attending.
George Kiolbassa suggested we consider a cruise to Fredericksburg again. Instead of a three day, we should look at a two day. Members in attendance were interested. October was suggested in order to coincide with local activities. Brochures were handed out. John Kennedy was asked to pursue.
NEW BUSINESS Carol Buss shared an e-mail she had received from Sandra Hood regarding an upcoming cruise in January 2005. It is a 7-day, leaving out of Galveston going to Belize, Grand Cayman, etc. Inside cabin $779.86, Ocean view $989.00, Balcony $1,120.00 on the Grand Princess. George Kiolbassa suggested the club find a Drive-In for a Friday night cruise. Lou Maulden indicated EZ’s Brick Oven and Grill on Bandera as a possibility. Norm Brinkmeyer suggested the Hungry Horse. After discussion, the members asked Lou to contact EZ’s and get back with Neal Johnston so he can send an e-mail to members of the date, time and location.
Norm Brinkmeyer suggested a weekend cruise to Galveston. His daughter lives there and could send information and would be our point of contact. Members in attendance expressed interest. Norm is to follow-up and get back to the club with information.
Neal Johnston sadly reported that the copy machine has met her demise. Her drum has gone bad. To purchase a cartridge and drum would cost $179.00. To purchase a new one would be $399.00. C.E. Boyd made a motion with John Kennedy seconding, that the club purchase a new copier.
Cheryl Meynig suggested the club consider putting together a cookbook of all member’s favorite recipes. Del Boyd volunteered to assist with the project. Members in attendance showed support of the idea. Cheryl and Del will come up with a plan and get back to the club.

TBIRD TECH LEFTOVERS
FROM LOU MAULDEN: Several members have asked me where I got my new anti-sway bars. The Web Site is www.quickor.com . To talk to the owner ( Glen) use E-Mail: [email protected]. They seem to be real nice people.
FROM HANK LUSCHEN: Traffic violations and fines IN MOST Texas cities are not reported to the state agency that notifies the insurers until the financial transaction is complete or if a judge sentences the speeder to time in jail. So, when a speeder gets a $75. ticket, he or she mails in a check for $78. The clerk of the court then sends back a refund check for $3. to the speeder. The speeder throws away that $3. check - it is never cashed - and the financial transaction is never completed. The insurance company is never notified since the transaction, according to the computer, has not been completed. Now, let’s see if you have nerve enough to do it!!
FROM ROBERT EDWARDS: Someone asked about a smaller steering wheel for the Tbirds. I just got mine back from the gentleman that painted my '57. He had some medical problems and had to quit doing total paint jobs. He takes a '56 Ford steering wheel (17" O.D.) and a wheel from either a Granada or Ford pickup (15" O.D.) and cuts the '56 down and welds the rim of the 15" back on top of the three arms. The original horn ring works and it really is a neat job. He paints it to match the Tbird interior. You send him the two old wheels, pay postage both ways and he does it for $200.00. This only works for the '56 and '57 Tbirds. For more information, contact me direct at [email protected].
FROM NEAL JOHNSTON: Here’s a new one for everyone that has ’55 Fairlane eyebrows on their Tbird. You have fought with those black painted decorative areas on the front of them for a long time. Don’t bother anymore….help is on the way!! Thunderbird Ranch in Wisconsin sells self-sticking vinyl replacements for your eyebrows. I ordered some and installed them. Take it from me, it takes 10 minutes and they are perfect!! The bad news is these will eventually wear out (everything does) and we have no idea how long they are going to be available. I ordered three sets and put two of them in a drawer for future use. Here’s the information you need: Cost is $5.00 per set (pre- paid) no shipping (cheap). Call John R. Draxler at Thunderbird Ranch, 7158 Highway B, Pittsville, Wisconsin 54466. 715-884-6546 phone from 9 to 9 central time and 715-884-6720 fax. His email: [email protected] .
Going to a member’s home is more fun than a restaurant. If you would like to have the Club over to your place in September we can cancel Taste of China…..just let us know!!

Say HAPPY BIRTHDAY or HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to:
August Birthdays 12. Jeffrey Anderson 17. Jane Weiss 24. Cora Maulden Anniversaries 1. Marc & Jane Weiss In Remembrance Of the passing of two members of our Club who had been active members for a number of years
Jerry and Barbara Lineberry died on July 15th, 2004. Jerry was a Past-President of our Club.
When Barbara became so very ill with cancer, Jerry still worked and devoted his time to her every need until the last month or so. He hired a lady to come and sit with her at night so he could get some rest and sleep.
About 4 am on the 15th he got up to see how Barbara was, she was resting, so he told the lady he was going back to bed. He died of a heart attack sometime between 4 and 6 am and Barbara died a little after 4 pm that same day.
Our Club was well represented at the visitation on Monday evening, July 19 th , and again at the graveside services at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 20th. Their son asked us to drive some Thunderbirds to the cemetery. Those that drove were Ken Rowe, Lou Maulden, and myself. They parked us next too the pavilion.
We must not let the sadness of such an occasion so overwhelm us that we cannot reflect on the joyous times.
A friend, John Kennedy
