HOW TO APPLY

You can apply from 7th March 2016 onwards for the Access to HE Diploma You must be 19 years old or over on the 5th September 2016 and NOT in full time education to apply for this course.

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING: 1. Do you meet the entry requirements and hold the necessary GCSE qualifications? 2. Because our taught classes are on Monday and Tuesday evening (6 pm to 9 pm) in term time, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND both evenings weekly. For the duration of the course, you MUST have in place continuous childcare or make prior arrangements with your employer to be available both evenings each week to attend classes throughout the year. 3. We EXPECT YOU to make a very strong commitment to the course.

Acknowledgement of your application

We will send you an acknowledgement within 5 days of receipt of your application. If you have not heard from us within ten days, please contact our Adult Centre Helpline (0161 419 9163) or email: [email protected] Interview and/or our decision about your application Your application will be processed by the relevant curriculum department and you will be invited to attend an interview; appointments will be made from April onwards early evening on a Monday or Tuesday. At the interview you will be asked to complete an Initial Assessment for literacy and numeracy which will help us decide if this is the correct course for you and also helps us to identify any possible support that you might need. Also, you will need to demonstrate to the course tutor/advisor that you have the commitment and skills necessary to successfully complete the course. You MUST bring to your interview any certificates for qualifications you have listed on this application form. These can be either the official certificates or a printed summary from School (on headed notepaper). If you are not able to produce these at interview, any offer will be ‘conditional’ until documents have been seen and copied.

All applicants will be sent a letter about the outcome of their application and what the next stage will be if you are offered a place.
