BUDLEIGH SALTERTON TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES of the Meeting of the Planning Committee held in the Council Chamber on Monday 28 July 2014 at 7.00pm.

14.135 Public Speaking Time Miss S Tickle spoke about application number 14/1695/TCA. She explained that her property in Victoria Place borders the application site. She said that there are some dead trees but there are two full sized live conifers. The trees formed a screen between her property and Redcliff Court. As far as she was concerned they formed part of the planning consent granted in 1979 to preserve privacy and they should not be removed. Miss Tickle asked that her written notes be passed onto the relevant Tree warden. Cllr A J Dent explained that the Town Council defers its decisions on trees to David Colman, District Council Tree Officer and as such it would be him that would be making a decision on this as Councillors do not feel qualified to comment on such matters.

14.136 Apologies for Absence Apologies were received from the Deputy Town Mayor, Cllr C Richards (holiday), Cllr Mrs L D Evans (family commitments), Cllr S Hall (working) and Cllr R S Mitchell.

14.137 Declarations of Interests in Items on the Agenda Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs C A Sismore-Hunt declared a personal interest in Min 14.140 (14/1658/FUL) – the applicant is a personal friend.

14.138 Minutes The Minutes of the Meeting of the Planning Committee held on 14 July 2014 had been circulated prior to the Meeting. It was unanimously agreed they be signed as a true record.

14.139 Declaration by District Councillors It was formally noted that the participation of Cllr A J Dent and Cllr T D Wright, who are also Members of the East Devon District Council, in both the debate and subsequent vote, was on the basis that the views expressed were their preliminary views taking account of the information presently made available to the Town Council. They reserved their final views on the applications until they were in full possession of all the relevant arguments for and against.
