Courses
Credits 1 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) is equivalent to 2 HWU credits Students usually take 60 HWU credits per semester (equivalent to 30 ECTS) Each course is worth 15 HWU credits (equivalent to 7.5 ECTS)
Courses available Exchange students have access to all the courses within the School
Year 1 and 2 (Level 7 and 8): Introductory courses Year 3 (Level 9): More advanced courses Year 4 (Level 10): Final year and most advanced courses *
*Pre-requisites are often required as the courses are more advanced: Students can find the information on the course descriptors
Exchange students can take courses from other Schools, subject to approval
Language Courses Elective language courses at Beginners and Post-Beginners level are open to exchange students but are not guaranteed

Course Structure Each course usually consists of 2 hours lecture (either together or spilt) and 1 hour tutorial but this may vary. Tutorial attendance is compulsory

Grading System
Grade Mark Comment A 70+ Excellent B 60 - 69 Very Good C 50 - 59 Good D 40 - 49 Satisfactory (minimum pass mark) E 35 - 39 Adequate (pass mark in some courses) F Below 35 Inadequate (Fail mark)
