The AVID program at Hamilton High School is in need of your assistance. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. This is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills. Our students are goal oriented and are reaching for their dream of college. Many will be the first college graduates in their family. We are hosting a college night for roughly 550 students from throughout the district. We would love your assistance in the donation of, if possible, balloons and decorations in the colors of AVID, blue and yellow. We will have a large number of tables and would love to be able to have them some decorated. Hamilton High School’s AVID has had great success:  6 years of graduates: 200 graduates and $10,000,000 in scholarships, with the top earner receiving $890,000  Noted schools admittance: Notre Dame, The Naval Academy, Oregon State, Arizona State, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona Some majors: Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Law, Political Science, Physical Therapy, Education, Global Studies, and Nursing  AVID students have taken a combination of 16 different AP subject tests. The top AVID student entered college with 64 college credits – entering as a junior. We understand in these tough economic times that donations are difficult to come by, that is why we truly appreciate any and all assistance you may give. Your donation will help to continue to make Hamilton one of the best schools in the state and our students successful.
