Program Committee:  Harry from Double Starr will be the speaker for September.  Try to get speakers from local companies, which should also draw people to the meeting.  Talked with Sara Pevoto about having one of the doctors from Occupational Health speak.  Other possibilities include SAP, Vanguard, QVC, Jonathan, Wawa.  John Garver possibly for the half day.  Topics need to be relevant to HR – big and small companies.  Trying to get speakers that volunteer.  Trying to have speakers confirmed this week, but definitely no later than August 15.  Folder in Drop Box for speakers. If you have a bio for a speaker, just drop it in there.  Ask speaker to designate a charity and we will send a $50 donation.  Send thank you note to speakers.  Consider having a Webex.  Another possible topic would be something on I9. Membership Committee :  Joe has three main goals which are available in the Dropbox.  Everyone should try to bring one new member.  Joe will be forming a committee.  Need to take better advantage of LinkedIn and Twitter - can go in as CCHRA.  It does cost to post on LinkedIn’s job page; but you can post a job through discussion.  Do eBlast to members about LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.  Permanent name tags for members  Look at membership application – consider adding a place to indicate interest in volunteering.  Chapter designation form at each table – try to increase membership.  Follow up with people who do not re-enroll this year. We need to know why. Chester County Human Resource Association Board Minutes

 People at networking event get $25 off this year’s membership fee.  Ideas for other incentives – Villanova class for HRCI certification, ticket to half/whole day event, change difference in cost per meeting between members and non-members - increase non-member rate, if you sign up by x date, you could get $75 membership fee back, company membership. Sponsorship Committee :  Laura is ready to go, but needs clarification on the cost. $275 seems too high. There should be no more than two sponsors per meeting. Pottstown charges $100.  Possibly special rate for returning sponsors.  Companies could purchase ad space on the CCHRA website.  Laura will look at what others do for sponsors. She will put a cost list together for the phone call meeting the first week of August.  Thank you letters should be sent out to sponsors.  Develop a sheet for sponsors of the benefits of sponsoring.  Make online registration available to sponsors.  Everyone should work on finding sponsors and provide information to Laura. Publicity :  Develop a brochure for CCHRA.  How can we take better advantage of the local Chamber?  Establish a quarterly newsletter. Job Bank/Work force readiness:  Diversity :  College Relations :  Legislative Committee :  Special Events:  November charity event.  Look for a place to hold this event. VI. New Business  Charity suggestions: ARC, Wings for Success. Maria has an email on another possible and will forward link. Send ideas to Linda for next meeting. VII. Miscellaneous  We will look into other locations for meetings. Sheraton at Great Valley is eager for our business. They are willing to accommodate what we want. They do not have a projector. There is no charge for the room, just meal. They are willing to go under current price we pay at Downingtown Country Club. They would do the Board meetings at no charge. Laura will ask for a list of references. She will be speaking with Desmond this week.  Maybe we could hold the August Board meeting there and get a tour. The agreement with Downingtown Country Club is up in August.  Proposal from Whitford Country Club - Breakfast for $17.50/person including tax and gratuity.  The reasons we are looking are to reduce costs, find a convenient location, and good service.  How do they charge - by number called in or headcount?  The Sheraton has a projector, microphone, clicker, wireless, and podium.  For the monthly board meetings we need coffee.  Laura, Linda and Patrick will work on this and share with the other Board members during a phone call meeting the beginning of August to take a vote.  There will be a conference call the first week in August.  CLIF form was submitted July 12, 2013.  PA SHRM meeting, Saturday, August 10, 2012, free, 3 HRCI credits.  PA SHRM conference at Penn State, September 26 and 27, 2013.  SHRM Leadership, November 21-23, 2013.  Other upcoming events are the Greater Valley Forge networking event and HR summit. VIII. Meeting Adjourned Meeting adjourned at 9:20 a.m. Next meeting: Phone-in meeting the first week of August. August 16, 2013, 7:30 a.m. at the Downingtown Country Club
