Roof Lifting Operation of CAPITAL INTERMODAL Hard Open Top Unit

Roof operation of Hard Open Top unit 1. unlock the side lock of the roof Move the T pin leftwards

Push the trigger and lifting up the locking rod

Make sure the locking rod was unlocked as showing in the right photo

2. lifting up the roof Before the operation, some tools should be prepared like: some shackles, rope and ladder; Get two shackles and rope through the two fork lifting rings which located in the center of the roof

Lifting the roof up by crane

Repeat the process to move the roof back into position. There are four sets of side rings which located on the side channel section, hereby we lifting up the roof through these side rings as a demonstration. Be ware that we used only two side rings in the demo, but it is recommended to use three side lifting rings for easy operation for the crane driver. Get the shackle and rope through the side rings

3.Some clients put the roof inside the container for some purpose, as manufacturer,

2 we do not recommended to do so since the roof could damage the wooden floor and the paint of top side rail during this process. However, we record the process as below:

Once the roof landed on floor, one or two workers should assist in putting the front end of roof into the front corner post.

The propose to move the roof into corner post is to hold roof from side, moreover, we have to tight the roof to the lashing ring on the top side rail by steel wires for safety reasons.

Beware to tighten the roof to top lashing rings first before you loose the shackles and rope

4. Move the roof back into position

4 Get shackle and rope on the side rings (you can use the two lifting ring in the center also), lift up the roof and then put it back into position.

After put the roof on top, one guy should check whether it’s in the right position or not and make adjustment if necessary. Then, unlock the shackle and lock the side lock on the ground. Two items should pay attention to: 1.the roof should be distinguished of front and rear end; 2.do not forget to check the unit from inside in case of roof was not in the right position.
