As Fire Management Officer for the Eldorado National Forest, you and your Assistant Fire Management Officer (unless otherwise noted) are delegated authority to act on my behalf for the following duties and actions: 1. Represent the Eldorado National Forest in the Sub-geographical Area in setting priorities and allocating resources for fire emergencies. 2. Coordinate all prescribed fire activities for the Eldorado National Forest and suspend all prescribed fire when conditions warrant. 3. Prepare background information for forest closure orders related to fire prevention, and recommend to the FLT as conditions mandate, when closures should go into effect, in coordination with neighboring units. 4. Ensure only fully qualified personnel are used in any wildland fire suppression capacity or prescribed fire capacity unless they are clearly identified as trainees with qualified trainers. 5. Coordinate, preposition, send, recall and order any fire and aviation resources deemed necessary in response to current and anticipated fire risks, hazards or conditions. 6. Oversee and coordinate the Camino Interagency Emergency Communications Center (CICC) on behalf of the Eldorado National Forest and the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. 7. Request and oversee distribution of severity funding for the Eldorado National Forest. 8. Approve fire program requests of overtime, hazard pay and other premium pay, within your operating budget. 9. Ensure all incidents are managed in a safe and cost-effective manner. 10. Coordinate and provide all fire and prevention information needs to inform internal and external customers with necessary information. 11. Coordinate all fire funding accounts with the Budget Officer to assure fiscal guidelines are adhered to and targets are met. Hazardous fuels funding accounts must be coordinated with the Resource Staff Officer and with the timber/vegetation management program leads.

Approve Incident Qualification Cards in accordance with agency policy. Not delegable below the Forest Fire Management Officer. 14. Provide leadership to the Forest FQRC Committee and approve Task Books as appropriate. Not delegable below the Forest Fire Management Officer. 15. Hire Emergency Firefighters in accordance with the Emergency Worker Pay Plan. This delegation is effective until rescinded by letter from the Eldorado National Forest Supervisor.
