Grading Determination

Grading Guidelines for all core subjects are based on rubric, with each course having 5 categories and 5 point system Grading guidelines for the severe and profound social studies are based on a 90 point system. A grade of 95 is based on that a student can complete a task independently 95% of the time. A grade of 90 is based on that a student can complete a task with minimal adult assistance 90% of the time. A grade of 85 completes a task with 80-85% of the time with adult assistance. A grade 0f 75 completes a task with 70-75% of the time with significant adult assistance. All assignments are completed in the classroom. Any student not meeting the current goals will have a task analysis completed on them in order to increase mastery of skill.

Re-teach/Retest Procedure Re-teach is based on structured teaching utilizing the skills of staff and student. A baseline will be established relevant to the goals –i.e. hand over hand, physical prompts, modeling, verbal prompt, or independent, then goals will be measured and re-taught as necessary.

Outline/Calendar At the beginning of the school year 2016-2017, the following boundaries are set: the students are pre taught classroom rules, expectations for the common areas and cafeteria, safety and potential hazards in the lab are discussed, adequate training is provided on each assigned task and there are high expectations for behavior. Skills are then re-taught as needed through out the school year with a goal of students working independently on their assigned task by the spring semester.

Student Absence Procedure Students absences are recorded as based on Klein policy. Any student with multiple absences is noted and reported to their principal and a phone call is made to the parent and guardian.
