Dear Friends, 1 One of my favorite Scriptures which speaks about life, and time, and seasons, is Ecclesiastes 3: For everything there is a season…

Summer is almost upon us! Time to slow down the pace a bit, to get outside, and enjoy the beauty before us; the grass, the green trees, the flowers, the beautiful sunshine, and yes, sometimes rain.

As we slow down, let us take some time to pray and give thanks for each day we have been given by God.

The following prayer written by Katherine Burgess is a helpful one as we aspire to appreciate our days! Lord, I praise you for the morning And for the night before Each day I am given the chance To start anew As I open my eyes to a new day As I leave yesterday behind As I find my new beginning Lord, I praise you for this day And for every day Each one with its unique qualities Each one which will never come again Each one which is a gift from you Lord, I praise you for the evening As the day wears on and I am able To look back to see Your presence in both The small and large moments There are days When it is more difficult to find you Days when I feel alone Days when I am not sure where to turn But then I sit with you I speak to you And I listen I listen I listen And I hear your voice For you are there Amen

May you be blessed as you pray this summer season.

A WORD OF THANKS. I wish to thank the members of St. John’s United Church of Christ for honoring me on my fifty years as organist for the church. I can hardly believe fifty years have gone by, but the calendar confirms it. Little did I think when I began piano lessons as a young child and then continue on to take organ lessons as a teenager that I would become a church organist celebrating fifty years of music ministry at St. John’s. Through the years I have been blessed with wonderful musicians and choral singers with which to work. It is my hope I can continue to do so in the future. Music has always been a vital part of my life and defines, in part, who and what I am. The Lord has truly been good to me. Larry Benner Join us for a time to honor Dads and Grads June 19th at 9:30AM with hospitality following! 3 Congratulations to:
