A Family Maths Competition

MAKE AN ADVERT FOR MATHS… and win goodies from the Bletchley Park shop! Make an advert for maths in any medium you choose – it could be a poster, a video, a poem, or something we haven’t even thought of!

The best entries will be shared through Bletchley Park’s social media platforms to help us encourage families to explore maths together, and one winning team will receive a stack of goodies from the Bletchley Park shop worth up to 50!

Deadline for entries: Monday, 1st December 2014

Rules  This is a competition for families, so your team must consist of at least one child and at least one adult working together. You need to tell us who did what in the entry form, and we want the advert to show maths as something that families can do together.  Only one entry per family group!  If you record a video or audio advert, it must last no longer than 2 minutes.  Paper-based entries should be no larger than A4.  By entering you give Bletchley Park and its partners the right to reproduce the advert, crediting your group as the author.

How to enter You can enter electronically or by post up until midnight on Monday, 1st December 2014. Make sure you include the entry form on the next page or we won’t know who you are!  To enter by email, please send to [email protected] with the subject line “Family Maths Competition!”  To enter by post, please send to: Education Officer Bletchley Park Trust The Mansion Bletchley Park Milton Keynes MK3 6EB

How the competition will be judged Our panel includes both maths lovers and people who don’t know much about it. Your job is simple: get people excited about maths. We want people who see (or hear) your ad to think “I’d like to do some more maths,” and if you can convince them to take part with other people then that’s even better! We’ll take into account the ages of the entrants in our judgement.

Top tips: Can you show people where you have found the maths all around you? Be creative! Be enthusiastic! Be imaginative! Family Maths Competition Entry Form
