Laptop Computer Loan Agreement
As the Borrower, you have been provided with the loan of a laptop computer. This agreement between you and Framingham State College outlines your rights and responsibilities. In consideration of the right to use the laptop computer, the Borrower agrees to abide by the following terms and conditions:
The Borrower agrees to keep the laptop computer in his or her custody and agrees not to loan, or otherwise provide the computer to any other person.
The Borrower agrees not to violate the laws of any state or of the United States with regard to trademark, copyright, patent, libel, slander, privacy of electronic data communication (the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986) or the Communications Decency Act of 1996.
The Borrower agrees to inform the College immediately of any problems, malfunctions, damages, loss or theft of the computer.
The Borrower assumes all responsibility for any damage, loss or theft of the laptop computer. All costs associated with the loss, theft or damage to the computer while on loan to the Borrower shall be the sole obligation of the borrower and shall be billed to the Borrowers student account, subject to all collection costs, including attorney’s fees, and the withholding of transcripts and degrees until this financial obligation is met.
The College shall retain title and ownership of the laptop computer provided for the Borrower’s use.
The Borrower agrees to return the computer no later than May 14, 2004 by delivering it to Information Technology Services and signing a return receipt. If the Borrower withdraws from the class or the College before May 14, 2004 the Borrower agrees to return the laptop immediately if not returned by then.
The Borrower agrees to pay a fee of $62 if the power cable is not present when the laptop is returned.
